International Mens Day, Network Rail
In November 2024 I spoke to colleagues at Network Rail for ‘International Mens Day’ all about my mental health journey, focusing on the transformative power of gardening and the challenges of imposter syndrome.
East Riding Festival of Words
In October 2024 I spoke at the East Riding Festival of Words about my journey into horticulture, gardening for wellbeing and how to get more children and young people outside.
New York Times
I wrote a section for a New York Times article about the wellbeing benefits of getting your hands dirty and being outside.
Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), #fscForestWeek
I worked with global NGO the Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®) on a social media campaign to highlight the brilliant work they do to promote sustainable management of the world’s forests, ensuring we have forests for all, forever.
Green Therapy at Andover Mind ‘Garden for Mind’
In September 2024 I hosted two green therapy days at the Andover Mind 'Garden for Mind' on the Waitrose Leckford Estate. These events were part of Winchester Green Week and participants took part in a range of activities from bulb planting to guided mindful walks.
Plantlife, #NoMowMay 2024
I worked with charity Plantlife on their #NoMowMay 2024 campaign, creating social media content that helped raise the profile of their biodiversity boosting movement.
Blooming Barrels of Fun, Festival Place Shopping Centre
Over the summer of 2024 I worked with Festival Place Shopping Centre and six local primary schools to create, decorate and plant six beautiful bloomin’ barrel gardens which were displayed throughout the shopping centre during the school holidays. Each school was given a different nature or gardening theme and I ran workshops with over 100 children, giving gardening knowledge and coming up with planting schemes to make sure each of their gardens told their own story.
Talk, Green Halo Conference – National Parks for Health: A Natural Health Service
In June 2024 I spoke at the Green Halo ‘National Parks for Health: A Natural Health Service’ Conference in the New Forest. I talked about my national park inspired showcase garden that I created at BBC Gardeners’ World Spring Fair, how we can improve people’s access to nature and how wellbeing is an important factor for me when designing and creating outdoor spaces.
burnaby Close Redevelopment
I was asked by Sovereign Housing Association and Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council to design and develop a new area of green space on a housing estate in Basingstoke. The project involved consulting with residents to create a beautiful new outdoor space that has wellbeing and community at its heart.

Florette, Wild Flowering Campaign 2024
Florrette (the salad people) asked me to join them on their ‘Wild Flowering’ social media campaign to urge Brits to protect our wildlife during spring sowing season by planting wildflowers. I dressed up as a Bee to highlight this point and encouraged people to plant wildflowers, actively promoting awareness about the significance of pollinators and how we can all take steps to counteract their decline.
Stepping Stones Project, Hampshire Cultural Trust
In the Spring of 2024 I was asked by Hampshire Cultural Trust to run a seven week gardening project with young people aged between 12-16 at Aldershot Military Museum. The project, which is part of the Trust’s ‘Stepping Stones’ project promotes positive mental health and provides regular opportunities for young people to build emotional resilience.
RHS Malvern Spring Festival, Stage Host
I was asked to host the ‘Tips and Tricks’ stage at RHS Malvern Spring Festival 2024. I will speak to a range of experts demonstrating how to fix, make and create things for your home and garden. It also features a timetable of talks from a range of florists, horticultural experts and growers on topics such as growing, harvesting and maintaining florals and vegetables.
‘A forest of calm’ Showcase Garden, BBC Gardeners’ World Spring Fair
I designed this Gold medal winning showcase garden with Lily Clarke for BBC Gardeners’ World Spring Fair in 2024. The garden seeks to capture the beauty of the New Forest and how our national parks can play an important role in helping to improve the mental health and wellbeing of the nation.
Talk, Plumpton College
In December 2023 I gave a talk to past and present horticulture students at Plumpton College. I spoke about my career change, gardening for mental health and garden design.
Project Thrive
In 2023 I worked with Hampshire Cultural Trust and a group of young people from Alton in Hampshire, to design and create a new wellbeing garden in the grounds of the Allen Gallery.
B&Q MamaTerra by Verve Launch
I worked with B&Q to help them launch their new ‘Mama Terra by Verve’ range of natural gardening products, using my social media platform to create a series of engaging posts to spread the word further.
The Giving Garden, Hampton Court
In 2023 I designed my first show garden at the prestigious RHS Hampton Court Palace Garden Festival. I was asked by the RHS to create a representation of my original Giving Garden that I started at my home during the Covid-19 pandemic.
YES COLOURS
I teamed up with sustainable, UK paint brand Yes Colours for their #MyColours mental health awareness campaign. Created and mixed by hand, my unique paint ‘Mindful Green’ is inspired by how gardening supports my wellbeing.
